Daviess County Sheriff's Department Receives Grant Funds from ARPA -
DAVIESS COUNTY - MAY 2, 2022 - Daviess County Sheriff Gary Allison is pleased to announce that the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a grant in the amount of $22,400.00, through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security funded by the American Rescue Plan Act for State and local Fiscal recovery funds.

The office applied for and completed a competitive grant application, which will pay $973 to fund new body worn cameras, with a 25% match requirement from the Sheriff’s Office. The competitive grant is awarded by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security and will require program and fiscal reports to be filed to ensure accurate spending of the grant funds, this grant will enable the Sheriff’s Office to purchase and implement a new camera to all the Office’s deputies.
The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is embracing this technology as it will provide transparency, records valuable evidence, and shows the events as they occurred from the deputy’s perspective.
Time frame for the program to be implemented is late summer or fall of this year.
