Damage Reports from wind reported throughout southern Indiana with power outages

LAWRENCE COUNTY - FEBRUARY 27, 2023 - Area law enforcement agencies are reporting downed trees and power lines throughout southern Indiana.


Winds have taken down trees in the Williams area about 12:30 pm Monday afernoon.


More than 1,100 Duke Energy customers are reporting outages in around Lawrence and Monroe Counties. Most of the power outages were from a Sevre Thunderstorm that passed through the area.


The Ellettsville Fire Department is reporting 4600 Block of W. Maple Grove Road is blocked due to a large tree across the roadway. Monroe County has been notified but unable to provide a time that Road will be open.


In Greene County, county highway and fire departments have responded to numerous trees that have fallen on roadways.


The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
