Commissioner Gabhart to ask for pay raise for County Attorney with benefits

LAWRENCE COUNTY - JANUARY 22, 2024 - Lawrence County Council members who passed the largest budgets on record over the last two years will be asked for additional salary increases.

Lawrence County Commissioner Dustin Gabhart will be requesting additional pay increase for county attorney David Smith in the amount of $80,000 with county health benefits during the council meeting Tuesday afternoon.

At this time the Lawrence County Commissioners have not appointed a county attorney pending the vote on the pay increase.

The Lawrence County passed the highest budget on record at $35.7 million for 2024.

The Lawrence County Council voted to change the meeting time to 4:30 pm in 2024.
