On September 23, 2023, patrol officers with the Seymour Police Department responded to the 600 block of E. 7th St. in reference to a battery complaint. When patrol officers arrived at the location, they determined that the incident took place in the 700 block of Hustedt St.
The victim told patrol officers that she had been battered which resulted in a complaint of pain. The case was reviewed by investigators.
On September 27, 2023, investigators arrested Brownstown Police Officer Michael Jeremy Huff age 38 of Brownstown, for battery a class A misdemeanor and false informing a class B misdemeanor.
Huff was taken to the Jackson County Jail and remanded into the custody of the jail division.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office told investigators that they intend to file charges of battery and false informing reference the incident.
