Bomb threat called into the Mitchell Municipal Pool Monday afternoon
MITCHELL - JULY 10, 2023 - A bomb threat was called into the Mitchell Municipal Pool Monday afternoon at 1:38 pm.
No injuries were reported.
This prompted an evacuation from Indiana State Road 37 to 14th Street on Hancock Avenue.
Vehicular traffic along with residents were evacuated from their homes until an all-clear was given.
The Indiana State Police Indiana EOD was called to search the building and vehicles in the area. By 3:15 pm an " All Clear " was given and everything to normal.

The incident is under investigation by the Mitchell Police Department. More than 30 people who were at the municipal was taken to Burris Elementary as part of the emergency plans.

The Mitchell Police Department, Mitchell Fire Department, IU Lifeline Ambulance, and Indiana State Police Department responded to the incident.
