Bedford Utilities Announces Road Closures and Lane Restrictions

BEDFORD - MARCH 14, 2023 - Bedford Utilities announces road closures and lane restrictions as the utilities work on emergency repairs and the 5th Street mitigation project.

  • On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, westbound lanes of John Williams Blvd will be diverted into one lane of eastbound John Williams Blvd around the construction and O Street will be closed north of John Williams Blvd to 8th Street.

  • John Williams Blvd south to 10th Street will be open.

This pattern is estimated to continue through Saturday March18, 2023. The road will be closed and lane restrictions for excavating and new piping of 24-inch sanitary sewer pipe on John Williams Blvd. The City of Bedford received a transportation and storm water grant to complete this project.


Updates will be given as the project continues with schedule dependent on weather conditions.



16TH STREET INFORMATION


  • 16th Street (U.S. 50 West) the westbound lanes will be closed west of S Street and Brian Lane Way through Thursday March 16th, dependent on weather conditions and schedule. The entrance to Parkview Primary and Intermediate will be accessible from 16th Street. Access to businesses west of the road closure will be accessible from Indiana State Road 37. Semi traffic can use Business 50 to Indiana State Road 37 North to access West 16th Street. The lane closure is due to an emergency repair to the sanitary sewer system in 16th Street.
