Bedford Mayor Sam Craig Bring Fireworks Back to 4th of July to Celebrate Independence Day

BEDFORD - JULY 4, 2022 - What is the Fourth of July without the celebration of the Nation's Independence without fireworks display. Bedford Mayor Sam Craig worked to bring back this long tradition for Bedford residents for the last three years.

This evening the fireworks will be set off from Wilson Park just at dark or around 10:00 p.m. Wilson Park itself will be closed to the public. All the fireworks will be aerials which will put on a spectacular show for kid of all ages.

A new event that just started this year, is Family Fun Day at Thornton Park. This will take place from noon until 6:00 p.m.

WBED will be providing music for the event.

The donors from United Way of South-Central Indiana, General Motors, Flynn & Sons, Lochmueller Group, Hoosier Hills Credit Union, Architectural Stone, Parker Inc., and Ronald and Nancy Ritter contributed to make the fireworks possible. No tax money was used to the fireworks display.

So far, many have taken advantage of this special day with food, swimming, and race car and meeting Bedford's police officers and firefighters.

Have a Safe and Fun Fourth of July.
