On December 27, 2023, Dalton O. Sosh, 31, pled guilty to Domestic Battery resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 felony and Strangulation, a Level 6 felony.
Dalton Sosh has a long history of domestic violence dating back to 2015, 2016 and two separate incidents in 2022.
Judge Plummer III sentenced the Defendant to 5 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections, with one year suspended to supervised probation upon his release.
"Domestic violence is about power and control. The Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office is committed to helping break that cycle of violence. The Defendant has a history of domestic violence and has never sought treatment to break this cycle of power and control. Today's sentence handed out by Judge Plummer is a chance for the Defendant to break that cycle while in prison to be rehabilitated to return to the community upon his release," said Deputy Prosecutor Sarah Cummings.
