BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 4, 2023 - Bedford Fire Department responded to an early morning fire at SAIC in the 2900 block 16th Street, Saturday morning.

The alarm came in at 1:37 am with all three stations and 10 men arriving to find a equipment shed on fire at the facility. An extra shift was called in with 10 additional men to fight the fire.
" At this time the cause of the fire is unknown. The Indiana State Fire Marshall Office has been contacted to help determine the origin and fire cause determination," said Bedford Fire Chief John Hughes.
Fire Chief Hughes said he was the last one to leave the scene at 7:00 am this morning. No injuries was reported.
