BEDFORD - NOVEMBER 23, 2022 - Bedford firefighters responded to Indiana Steel X Street location due to a smoke report.
The call reporting the incident just after 6:00 p.m. with stations 1 and 2.

The owner Joe Elliott told the Lawrence County Zephyr that a concerned party called him said a lot of smoke was coming from the building. He left his home and called 911 to have the fire department check out the situation.
Firefighters found a controlled burn from another location was making it like the building was no fire.
Light smoke could be seen arising from the building but coming from the other location.
Bedford firefighters were reported to the same area last night, due to the same issue. Firefifghers cleared the scene quickly and returned to the stations.
