Bedford Fire Battalion Chief Kenny Tumey Retires After 29 and Half Years
BEDFORD - (January 18, 2022) - Bedford Board of Works was notified that Bedford Fire Department Battalion Chief Kenny Tumey retired on January 8, 2022, after serving 29.5 years.

Mayor Sam Craig and Board of Works wanted to thank Tumey for his service to the community. Tumey is currently on vacation in Florida.

With Tumey's departure the Board of Works approved the following promotions:
Captain Bruce Deckard promoted to Battalion Chief
Lieutenant Jeff Armstrong promoted to Captain
Senior Firefighter David Zeeks promoted to Lieutenant
Firefighter 1st Class Jeremy Nolan promoted to Senior Firefighter

In other business:
ApprovedApproved David Flinn's Street Commissioner request to accept the mowing contract for 47 locations throughout the City of Bedford. The no bid contract was awarded to James & Barbra Baxter in the amount of $49,500.
