Bedford Family Displaced by Fire Tuesday Morning

BEDFORD - AUGUST 24, 20222 - A Bedford family was displaced by a house fire Tuesday morning. The residence located in the 2000 block of 12th Street in Bedford.



The call came in at 12:15 a.m. and the first engine arriving to find the back of the home on fire, and the inside of the home filled with smoke.


Bedford Fire Chief John Hughes stated no one was injured.


" We cannot stress the importance of smoke detectors. The smoke detectors sounded and alerted the family of three adults and two children who were home at the time of the fire," said Fire Chief Hughes.


Part of the family was staying in the basement and with the quick alert everyone was able safely get out of the fire.


Firefighter remained on the scene until 3:45 a.m. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
