BEDFORD CITY COUNCIL PASSES ORDINANCE ON INSTALLATION OF SOLAR PANELS

BEDFORD - DECEMBER 20, 2022 - The Bedford City Council passed an ordinance in regard to the installation of solar panels. Brandon Woodward, Bedford Plan Director stated that with the increase in solar panels at homes and businesses there is a growing need for the ordinances to be updated.



In his research, the city's ordinance did not have anything on the books. The current owners of solar panels will be grandfathered in.


Bedford City Council met Monday night at the Stonegate Arts and Education Center


In other business:


  • The White River Humane Society request for payment in the amount of $37,400. The City of Bedford city council member Ryan Griffth will be a non-voting member of their board

  • Approved the resolution to transfer CARES Act funding earmarked for TASC in the amount of $911,611.33 from the General Fund to Rainy Day Fund was approved.

  • Motion made for Judy Carlisle to serve as president of the city council in 2023

  • Appointed Judy Carlisle and Penny May to the Bedford Redevelopment Commission
