Bedford City Clerk-Treasurer Pfieffer and Marshall Township Advisory Board member Holmes Resigns

BEDFORD - JANUARY 3, 2023 - Due to the resignations of Bedford City Clerk-Treasurer Marsha Pfieffer and Marshall Township Board member Mike Holmes, the Lawrence County Republican party will be holding a caucuses for both positions on Saturday February 4, 2023. at Brinegar Hall, located at the Stonegate Arts & Education Center 931 15th Street in Bedford.

The caucuses will begin at 1:00 p.m. Anyone interested in running for either position needs to file at the Lawrence County Voter Registration office 48 hour before the caucus date.


If only one candidate has filed for either position by that point, then the caucus for that individual office will be cancelled and the filed candidate will be announced as the winner.


If no candidate has filed by the date for either office, then the Party will make an appointment. Precinct committee people representing precincts in the City of Bedford will be allowed to vote for the Clerk-Treasurer vacancy, and the Precinct committee people for Marshall Township will be allowed to vote for the Marshall Township vacancy.


This announcement comes after Pheiffer announced her candidacy to run for another term, and Billie Tumey will be challenging her in the primary election for that office.
