Bedford Board of Works Voted to Demote Bedford Police Captain Timothy Chen

BEDFORD - AUGUST 23, 2022 - The Bedford Board of Works voted to demote Bedford Police Captain Timothy Chen to patrol officer Tuesday morning.

Bedford Board of Works members include Charlene Hall, Judy Carlisle and Mayor Sam Craig

During a brief Board of Works meeting Bedford Police Chief Terry Moore outlined what led to the demotion.

According to Moore defamatory statements were posted at the department and in July an internal investigation led by Detective Louden revealed several department policies were violated.

Captain Chen was placed on administrative leave on August 10th. Chen's pay will be reduced to a patrolman wages.
