Ascension St. Vincent House Needs Bottled Water Donations - Time For a Fill Up

LAWRENCE COUNTY - JUNE 17, 2022 - The St. Vincent House is ready for a refill of bottled water who is currently out. Lawrence County Zephyr told the story of Baby Cierah early in 2022.

Baby Cierah was born in February 2021 and spent the first two months of her life in the NICU at Peyton Manning Children's Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent. Cierah's family lives 2 hours away and finically could not afford to stay in a hotel nearby during her prolonged hospitalization.

" My daughter is a single mother of 4 girls, it was very hard to deal with going back and forth trying to get the other grandchildren taking care of. Without them we would not have been able to stay in a hotel that long," said Susen Chastain of Bedford, Indiana.

Located right down the street from the hospital the Ascension St. Vincent House is a dedicated hospitality house that serves as a home away from home for families who live more than 60 miles away from Ascension St. Vincent, especially those with financial barriers. The facility is designed to be a place of peace, rest, and emotional and spiritual refreshment and that is what it provided to Cierah's mom, and grandma, who were both able to stay at the Ascension St. Vincent House and support Cierah's healing during her hospitalization without the burden of having to pay for hotel accommodations.

One night while staying at the Ascension St. Vincent House, Cierah's grandma, Susen was thirsty and went to look for a bottle of water. She discovered that groups donated water and food to families staying at the Ascension St. Vincent House and decided that she wanted to honor Cierah and show her gratitude for the staff at the Ascension St. Vincent House by helping to guarantee that no guests ever went thirsty. Susen's goal is to fill the pantry with bottled water - an oasis for all who go seeking comfort and refreshment during their stay.

Cierah is doing great and will turn 1 year old on February 26, 2022, and her family would be honored if you would celebrate by donating to this fundraiser today.

" Let's make sure everyone has a bottled water and thank you Saint Vincent for all your support through this hard time," said Chastain.

Now its time to replenish the supply and if you or your organization Susan say's let's get it done.

All money donated will be used to purchase bottled water for families staying at the Ascension St. Vincent House. To donate go to this following link Baby Cierah Bottled Water Donation Form - St.Vincent Hospital Foundation (stvincent.org)
