Air Conditioning Unit Possible to Blame for Mobile Home Fire
FAYETTEVILLE - (March 28, 2022) - A air condition unit is possibly to blame for a mobile home fire in the 600 block of State Road 458 Monday night.

The 911 call reporting the fire came in at 8:05 p.m. with firefighters from Indian Creek Township and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Department dispatched to the fire.

" I heard a loud pop from our outside air conditioning unit. We all got out safe, but I still have a cat inside the home," said Eric Mitzefield.

A nearby neighbor affirmed Mitzefield account of events. " I hear a loud explosion and the air conditioning unit on the outside of the house was on fire,"
Heavy smoke could be seen billowing out of the mobile home.

Firefighters continue to work the scene and State Road 458 was closed at the fire scene up to Carver Lane. Several fire engines from both departments responded to the fire.
