Charity Chapel ministries began in Oolitic out of a small store front building. Eventually, Charity Chapel moved to 15th Street in Bedford, designed as a woman's shelter, and kitchen to help those in their time of need.

Pastor Johnny Hearld stated the pantry was named "Agape Pantry" to denote the purpose behind the pantry. Churches can have all the gifts operating in it, but if Love is not behind the motive for doing it's all in vain.

Many knew Becky Ryan and Jack behind Charity Chapel, but very few knew another person who was just as active in making sure the needs of the poor were met.
