After 58 years the Lawrence County Rock, Mineral, Fossil Show Continues
LAWRENCE COUNTY - JUNE 26, 2023 - After 58 years, the Lawrence County Rock, Mineral, Fossil Show continues to be a success with people traveling from all over the United States be at the event.
The three-day event was held over the weekend at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds with more than 80 vendors was on display by Saturday morning.
Vendors from 16 states were represented at the show, with one traveling the long-distance was from Texas, and more was signing up as the event went on.
The group first started at the Martin County Forest, in its first year, before moving to the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds for 23 years.
The show then moved to the Monroe County 4-H Fairgrounds for 23 years, and now at the present location for 11 years.
Those who attend can find any gem, mineral, fossil, you could possibly think of, from all over the world.
The show is a fun, educational, and interesting place to be with families intrigued by what they find at the show.
For anyone interested in what the group does, the Lawrence County Rock Club meets monthly at the Mixing Bowl at 6:00 pm on the first Saturday of every month in Bedford.
Next year's event will be held on June 22 - 24, 2024 at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds.
