2024 Relive The Night Gala Raises $68,478 for Lawrence County Patient Services Saturday Night

BEDFORD - FEBRUARY 1, 2024 - In a stunning evening of elegance, fun, and most of all for a good cause the 2024 Relive the Gala raised $68,478 for Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services.

For a second year in row this spectacular event was a huge success.

" Who has not been touched by cancer?, asked Dan Kemple. " I lost my dad , niece, grandmother, and sister in law, my wife Kellie loosing her Papa to cancer, " added Kemple.


" I did not get to go to my prom, so one night my wife and I was passing through the Town of Orleans when they was having their high school prom a few years prior to COVID," explained Kemple.

" So this kind of created this idea in our head and helped us with coming up with a plan,"


The first year, the first event raised just $2OO shy of $45,000.


This year's event was kind of a "Snowball Edition" instead of a Spring Prom.



More than 276 guests danced the night away at the Shamrock Center in Bedford.


The Kings and Queens group raising $36,642 by each seeking a $1 votes. There was a live auction as well as a Game of Heads and Tails.


The King was Heath Hawkins and Queen Sarah Eckstrom with a special thanks to the following candidates.

  • Mike Branham

  • Dr. Jim Sowders

" We just want to thank the entire community and our committee for making this a successful event. Cedar Hill Catering blew it out of the park for us with the food,"



" We especially want to thank those who attended, volunteers, businesses, that sponsored and donated to the event, friends and family we are just so blessed to have such a wonderful community," said Dan and Kellie Kemple.


Although the exact date has not been finalized there will be another event next year.


This year's committee included Deanna Cessna, Jenifer Diehl, Kellie Kemple, Teena Ligman, Dee Batchelor, Charles Cessna and Dan Kemple.


The Lawrence County Cancer Patient services supports cancer patients and their families right within the county providing products and services and being able to respond to their needs.
